How It All Started
Alan Engraving Company was founded in 1972 by Roger Prucnal. Starting up the business with one engraving machine, Roger worked part-time, slowly building up his business. Eventually he had enough business to quit his full-time job and work solely for himself. He worked many hours to support himself and his growing family of a wife and five daughters. The name Alan Engraving came from the middle initials of his first 3 daughters: A, L, A. Adding an N, he came up with ALAN ENGRAVING. His main focus was industrial and business clients. Roger was known for his craftsmanship and ability to engrave stainless steel quite well.
After 34 years of success, Roger wanted to retire but felt an obligation to his faithful customers. His oldest daughter, Leslie, and her husband, Jeff, approached Roger about taking on the responsibility of running the family business. Roger was very excited about this and trained both in all aspects of the company.
Today, Roger is enjoying retirement but consults Jeff and Leslie on jobs, when needed. The company has a state of the art laser engraver. This new technology allows the company to do jobs that were previously not possible and allows for quicker turnaround time.
